From 1983 to 1999 the Green County Fair selected a young adult from the community to promote the fair.

At the March 2012 Board Meeting, The Fairest of the Fair program was reinstated.
Serve as the official ambassador of the Green County Fair and participate in promotional programs and media events. Represent the Green County Fair at festivals and other functions for one year. The winner will also compete for the title Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs at the State Fair Convention in January.
- Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
- Must be a resident of Green County.
- Must attend the crowning ceremony at the Green County Breakfast on the Farm, which is the last Saturday in May.
- Be available to commit to attending promotional events.
- Be available for pre-fair events and during the entire week of the Green County Fair.
- Must be 18 years old or older as of January 1.
- Be able to attend the Wisconsin Association of Fairs competition in early January.
Pleasant personality, confident, gracious and outgoing.
Ability to speak effectively to large or small groups and in various media circumstances
Willingness and ability to learn more about the State Fair, County Fairs, and the State of Wisconsin.
Willingness to travel throughout the county and state.
Knowledge of community organizations involved in agricultural, social, recreational, charitable and/or other activities.
Competition and Banquet:
Judging will consist of individual and group interviews. Then there will be a small get together for families and fair board members. At this get together, each contestant will be asked to present a mock 30-second radio commercial advertising the Green County Fair and then the contestant will answer an impromptu interview question. The radio commercial should be written by the contestant beforehand and will be presented behind a screen. The judges will choose the Green County Fairest of the Fair and an alternate; and they will be announced at the Breakfast on the Farm.
